On 13–14 November, Yi Wushuang, Research Fellow at Grandview Institution, was invited to attend the 32nd Stockholm China Forum held in Seoul, South Korea, where she served as a panel discussant in the session on “Regional Security: Managing Maritime Borders in East Asia.”
During the maritime security session, Yi joined senior experts including Bonnie Glaser, Director of the Indo-Pacific Program at the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), and Prof. Kim Seok-kyoon, former Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard, for an in-depth discussion on the management of maritime boundaries in East Asia.
The Forum also featured intensive discussions on the outlook of the China–U.S. leaders’ summit, China’s economic policy, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, nuclear proliferation and arms control, among other key issues, providing an important platform for transatlantic stakeholders to better understand China and the evolving dynamics in East Asia.
Founded in 2007, the Stockholm China Forum is one of the most important transatlantic dialogue platforms between Europe, the United States, and China. The Forum brings together senior representatives from Western governments, media, business, academia, as well as leading Chinese strategic thinkers for candid and substantive exchanges on economic, foreign policy, and security matters.
