GVI and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Co-Host Dialogue on "A Sustainable Future – Technological Innovation, Green Transition, and Economic Policy"

On June 8, 2026, the Beijing Representative Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and Grandview Institution (GVI) jointly hosted a Sino-German dialogue under the theme "A Sustainable Future – Technological Innovation, Green Transition, and Economic Policy."

The discussions covered green hydrogen research and development, low-carbon industrial transformation, cross-border green investment policies, pathways for Sino-German cooperation in the green industry, the implementation of clean energy technologies, supporting economic policies for sustainable development, and industrial innovation policies. Participating guests also exchanged views on practical issues including the competitive dynamics and collaborative opportunities in the Sino-German EV sector, the transformation pathways of the automotive industries in both countries, green trade barriers, mutual recognition of technical standards, and the division of labor in industrial supply chains.

Attendees included Stefan Kaufmann, former Innovation Commissioner for Green Hydrogen at the German Ministry of Education and Research and former member of the German Bundestag; Jakob Ehrcke, Research Assistant at the Beijing Office of the Federation of German Industries (BDI); Pan Yuanyuan, Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS); Miao Zhongquan, Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of International Studies, Shandong University; and Zhang Yi, Senior Research Fellow at GVI.
