On January 13, 2025, Mikko Kinnunen, the Finnish Ambassador to China, and Anna Savolainen, the Political Counsellor, visited Grandview Institution to exchange and discuss the Ukrainian crisis, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and peace mediation issues with Grandview Institution President Ren Libo and International Cooperation Department Director Mao Jing.
Ambassador Mikko stated that the work of peaceful mediation is becoming increasingly difficult, and the frequency, quantity, and scale of conflicts around the world are intensifying. The nature of conflicts has also become more complex. Conflicts are not only influenced by the relationships between conflicting parties and the local social environment, but also by various geopolitical competitions, resulting in blurred geographical boundaries and an increase in proxy wars.
