GVI Delegation Visits Japan

A delegation from the Grandview Institution (GVI), comprising of the CEO of the the GVI - Ren Libo and the Director of the Academic Committee at the GVI - Zhang Tuosheng, begins their visit of Japan on the 5th of April. On this trip, the delegation will visit the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japanese Ministry of Defence, the National Institute for Defence Studies, the Japan Institute for International Affairs, Sankei Shimbun, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, the Japanese Organisation of Cultural Exchange Between Asian Community, the University of Tokyo, along with various branches of the Japanese government and think tanks. The delegation will also visit renowned Japanese politicians along with other important people.

On the 6th of April, the delegation from the GVI paid a visit to Professor Rira Momma from the Takushoku University, who is also happens the former Director of the Regional Research Department of the National Institute for Defence Studies. The delegation discussed thoroughly with Professor Momma on topics pertaining to Taiwan.

On the 6th of April, the delegation from the GVI paid a visit to the Japanese Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and a member of the Japanese House of Representatives - Shin’ichi Isa. The delegation discussed thoroughly with Mr. Isa on topics regarding Sino-Japanese economic security and the current geopolitical situation in Northeastern Asia.

On the 6th of April, the delegation from the GVI paid a visit to Takeshi Noda, President of the Japan-China Society. The delegation discussed thoroughly with Mr. Noda on tops pertaining to educational problems which emerges as a result of the development of Sino-Japanese relationship. Mr. Noda had previously been the member of the house of representative of the Liberal Democratic Party for a total of 16 times. Mr. Noda had also been the Director of the Liberal Democratic Party, the Party Leader of the Conservative Party, the Cabinet’s Minister of Construction, the Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy, and the Minister of Home Affairs along with other titles.

On the 6th of April, the delegation from the GVI paid a visit to a Professor from the University of Tokyo, who is also the former Director of the Research Department at the Yasuhiro Nakasone World Peace Institute - Shin Kawashima. The delegation discussed thoroughly with Professor Kawashima on topics pertaining to Japan’s current relationship with China and the future development of Sino-Japanese relationship during Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s cabinet, analysed the reason why Japan’s military expenditure is increasing, explored the possibility of multi-faceted dialogue between China and Japan along with other issues.

On the 6th of April, the delegation from the GVI paid a visit to Hotaka Machida, Researcher of the Panasonic Research Institute and the former Japanese Economic Counselor to China, and Professor Tomoyuki Fukumoto at the Osaka University of Economics, who is also happens the former Director of the International Bureau of the Japanese Central Bank. The delegation then proceeded to have dinner with Mr. Machida and Professor. Fukumoto. They discussed thoroughly on topics pertaining to the current state of affairs regarding Sino-Japanese economic relations and possibility of further cooperation over dinner.

 

Aside from this, the delegation also had lunch with the vice director of the Asia-Oceania Bureau at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Keiichi Iwamoto. The delegation discussed thoroughly with Mr. Iwamoto on topics regarding mutual visits between senior members of the Chinese and Japanese government, the Taiwan issue and other questions.
